Hi, I'm Jeet the engineer and this is my portfolio
From one to four
TThe challenging aspect of this project was to take a single cable from an existing camera and create a design that included three devices consisting of two cameras and a video intercom unit initially.
Because of my own motto of future proofing any work I carry out, I was able to add an additional camera to the system with a bit more ease at a later date.
Don't underestimate the labour for the additional camera as it was not for the feint hearted since the task needed to be carried out with precision, robustness and aesthetically pleasing, factors being the core elements of any work I undertake.
There are certain rules I like to follow that allows me to avoid issues in the future, this means that I must pay attention to details from start to finish and it does not end there, with the flexibility of an installer's app, I am able to look after my client's devices and assist them in resolving many issues, if any, remotely, saving me time and my clients... money.he challenging aspect of this project was to take a single cable from an existing camera and create a design that included three devices consisting of two cameras along with a video intercom unit initially.

The satisfactory result for me is the fact that I do not receive a phone call from this customer stating there is an issue, the reason for that is that I am0 able to notify my client first if there is an issue using the installer's assistant app that notifies me when any of my clients have an issue with their system allowing me to contact my clients first and troubleshoot issues early and remotely saving me time and my clients, money.
Adding cameras on a finished home
This project originally had an existing system with 3 cameras, none that worked, they were also of lower quality, but the worst part was that they weren't even connected. Unfortunately, the original installers turned out to be traders specialising in other trade, not CCTV or any security systems for that matter.
Luckily, the cables they ran for those cameras, were all intact, I was required to re-terminate the connectors as they were terminated by someone inexperienced.
I had to test them of course to make sure they would not pose an issue at a later date.
This project also required four additional cameras that were added along with a video intercom kit that included a call point boasting a full HD camera and a sleek aluminium bodied internal screen.
The call point doubles as a recordable camera for the NVR , allowing 24 hours recording of video and audio that is available on the doorbell.
The biggest challenge within this project was adding two new cables for the two cameras in this image, the location being an extended section of the loft atop an extended section of the house, the extended loft area was closed off when the house was originally refurbished.
In addition, the owner did not want there to be any visibility of any cable containments, understandably since the house was a refurbished only a year prior so I wouldn't want conduits defacing the finish my house either if I can avoid it.
With the right set of tools, the skillset learnt over 14 years and with the experience I gained in the field, I managed to overcome the problem.
As an added bonus, I managed to create a network that allowed me to connect the two cameras to the NVR in a way where it does not slow down the speed of your home's internet.
